Funded Childcare Information

 Funded places for ALL 3 & 4 Year Old's

'Universal Offer'

All of our nurseries currently offer 15 hours per week FUNDED Early Years Education for all children the term after their 3rd Birthday. This funding stream is the same funding that your child would access if they went to a 'school' nursery at 3 years old & therefore we are Ofsted Inspected just like a school nursery, so you can be sure your child is receiving the same level of education.

However unlike school nurseries. The ratio of staff to children is 1:8, rather than 1:13 in school nurseries. We also offer the 15 hours either term time only or stretched over 51 weeks a year (which then offers 11 hours a week all year round) this is great news for working parents or for children who do not always settle after long periods of absence.

We offer traditional 3 hour block sessions per day like most 'school nurseries' however we are pleased to be able to say we also offer more flexibly of sessions again which is useful for working or busy parents. So for example we can offer funded sessions for a full morning 8am-1pm, a full afternoon 1pm-6pm or even a short day (however these sessions do incur meal costs (please ask for information)

We also can offer top up sessions at our usual rates & also deduct funding from existing parents normal childcare fees.

The nursery will need to be provided with some personal information in order to claim the nursery funding from the Local Educational Authority & parents have to sign a deceleration that the child will stay at the nursery for his/her funded sessions for the term.

'Interesting fact' nationally there are more private nurseries providing Early Years Funded Education at an Ofsted graded GOOD of above than maintained schools academies.

30 hours funding for 3 & 4 Year Olds

'Extended Offer'

Again all of our nurseries currently offer 30 hours per week FUNDED Early Years Education for all 'eligible' children the term after their 3rd Birthday.

Again parents can access this funding stream term time only or stretch the funding so they are not paying full childcare fees in the school holidays.

This funding stream is mainly for working parents either as a lone parent or a couple, however there are a few acceptations. Parents themselves have to apply for the extra 15 hours to top up the Universal 15 hours funding themselves.

This can be done via www.childcarechoices.gov.uk & setting up a funding account. The process is simple & if parents meet the criteria they are emailed a code which needs to be validated by the nursery of your choice.

All our nurseries have an 'offer' of how the 30 hours funded childcare can be used. The funding only pays for childcare & does not include meals or other consumables. We do as a nursery charge additional charges for these, but again please contact your preferred nursery for what their particular offer is.

Hours can be topped up at our normal rates & do not forget if you pay any additional top up fees or charges these is paid by TAX FREE CHILDCARE, the government will pay £2 for £8 you pay in childcare fees saving you an additional 20% & Tax Credits are also available to support childcare costs.

2 Year Old funding

All of our nurseries accept children funded by 2 Year funding (15 hrs)

Like Universal Funding for 3 & 4 Year old's this can be delivered term time only for 15 hours per week or 'stretched' over the year to provide 11 hours all year round.

Unlike Universal Funding, the funding for 2 Year old's is only for those children whose parents claim one of the following:-

income support

income based jobseeker's allowance (JSA)

income related employment and support allowance (ESA)

support through part six of the Immigration and Asylum Act

the guarantee element of state pension credit

working tax credit if you have an income of £16,190 or less (as per HM Revenue and Customs)

working tax credit four week run on

universal credit

Alternatively you can also apply if your child –

is looked after by the care system

has left care through special guardianship, adoption or residence order

is in receipt of disability living allowance (DLA)

has a current statement of special education needs (SEN) or an education, health and care (EHC) plan

Parent's have to apply to Hull City Council for this funding & if your child is eligible you will receive a letter that needs to be given to the nursery to confirm the funding.

Like with all funding the sessions we offer for funded children are flexible (please call your preferred nursery to see what sessions are available & like with all funding streams the funding is for childcare only. This does not cover meals or other consumables & they maybe a small charge if you wish to access sessions over meal times.

The nursery will need to be provided with some personal information in order to claim the nursery funding from the Local Educational Authority & parents have to sign a deceleration that the child will stay at the nursery for his/her funded sessions for the term.
