Located in the grounds of Dorchester Academy.

[email protected] has been serving the local community since 2009.

Providing childcare for 39 children from birth to 5 years (including

wrap around care from the nursery sessions at Dorchester School)

The nursery space has recently been extended with a new 9 place

baby/toddler unit to work alongside the 30 place Preschool room.

With an Open Plan feel to ensure all children have all access to the

nurseries facilities & activities at all times.  Authentic, high quality resources thrown in with natural materials provide amazing opportunities for children's 'awe & wonder' to spark a lifelong interest in learning.

Our small but well resourced outdoor area is safe, secure & fully

equipped to meet the needs of inquisitive explorers. With direct access

from playroom, children can be independent with their choice of

accessing outdoor play & the opportunities the area can provide.

We offer 'wrap around' care from Dorchester Primary School & support our Kids Club site at Bransholme with collection of children from Dorchester school too.

A 'real hub' of the Dorchester Rd area community.

Kirsty Linford - Nursery Manger

I have worked within Early Years for over 17 years, I previously worked for the BrightStart team back in 2009 before relocating with my family in 2013.

In my gap from the company, I worked in a Nursery based on an Army Camp and then in a local Children’s Centre, before returning to Hull and the company in 2017 where for the last 4 years I have been once again part of the BrightStart family.

In my time at the company, I have been involved in a number of settings before moving to Dorchester where I have been the manager since 2018.

I don’t think I can really put into words ‘why’ I enjoy working with children, from a very young age I knew I wanted to work within the childcare sector and for me there is nothing more rewarding that watching children grow and develop their own individual characters.

I love being able to support children and their families within their early education, every day is different and although it can be challenging, seeing our little stars develop and smile makes it all worthwhile and I know we are making a difference in shaping our future generation.

I love being silly and creative with the children, providing them with opportunities to learn new skills, take risks and generally enjoy themselves in our nursery setting.

I have two children myself both boys (aged 5 & 10) both who have varying, demanding individual needs, so I understand the struggles of finding that home life balance with work commitments and everything in between.

In my spare time I love exploring with my children and making memories .

Please do not hesitate to get in touch with me if you have any questions about our homely nursery.
